Things are exciting over here.

Dear “Taco”,

Quinn loves to talk to you, rub you through my belly, and is making sure you are ok in there. She is excited, a little nervous and a bit clueless, all at once. The energy in our home is beginning to shift as we make plans to welcome you this fall. We’ve decided to let you tell us whether you’re a boy or a girl on the day you decide to arrive. And just like Quinn, your daddy will be catching you as you take your first breath.

We got to see your sweet little face last week at our first sonogram appointment, and you made daddy and I smile the biggest grin as you wiggled around, waving your hands in front of your face. You must have liked the big bowl of Udon, veggies and shrimp I had just eaten for lunch.

Can’t wait for daddy and Quinn to be able to feel you moving around in there.

Well, we’re definitely still in the midst of coats, woolly hats and boots around here. Although this past week we’ve had sneak peaks of spring with daytime temps tickling the 50′s. Quinn has recently become a magnet to her balance bike and asks to ride it everyday after school, regardless of weather. So out we go, bundled up and getting some much needed fresh air.

What was supposed to be a mere 2-4″ of snow has turned into an entire foot! Q played in it yesterday, this morning, and most likely will request to back out as soon as she’s up from her nap.

I’m participating in a monthly blog circle this year with some amazing women I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know through Clickin Moms. We all live in various parts of the globe and thought it’d be neat to see what everyone’s “corner of the world” looks like each month. Living in NY, February is still covered in plenty of snow, which I actually don’t mind.

The chilly weather doesn’t keep us from getting out and going on hikes around town. Our little girl is a lover of the outdoors, and would have stayed out there with her rocks and sticks for hours if left on her own. In fact, I think her upcoming birthday cake will be rock and stick themed….. Definitely my kid.

Sunday at Storm King

Headed over to the Storm King Art Center after Quinn woke up from her nap. This place never gets old and am so incredibly thankful it’s so close (only a 10 minute drive!). It closes for the season this Thanksgiving weekend, so head on out if you’ve got a little time!

As the Hurricane Howled

Snapped this one while hurricane Sandy was starting to roll in. We lost power at around 8:00pm Monday evening and lived amongst candles and flashlights until Wednesday afternoon. There are still millions of people without power/water. Incredibly thankful for how little we were affected. Lots of love and prayers to those who are still waiting for things to get back to ‘normal’.
